Children's Rights

Worldwide established, but still far too little respected!

Children's rights are the rights of children and young people. They are laid down worldwide in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 20 November 1989 and has now been ratified by most countries around the world. Although the universal binding nature of children's rights can be derived from this, they are unfortunately still far from being guaranteed and respected. Nevertheless, the principles oblige the contracting states to create positive framework conditions for the development of children and adolescents. The Convention on the Rights of the Child is thus a sign of respect and responsibility of the international community of states towards children all over the world. No child should be denied these children's rights! And yet there is still much to be done worldwide.
