The Sylt Library was thoroughly renovated in 2016 and now has more than 15,700 media, including DVDs, audio books, music, non-fiction books, novels, magazines, newspapers, children's and youth media, games, Tonies and a variety of electronic media. The Sylt Library in Westerland has long been more than ‘just’ a place for books: it is known as the third place, because the free access to a high-tech internet connection and the professional working conditions are two of the unique selling points in the Sylt Library's service portfolio.
