Since 2024, the Kommunale Kinos and filmfriend have jointly awarded the renowned Caligari Film Prize to an innovative film from the Berlinale Forum program. The prize is endowed with €4,000 and is awarded annually during the Berlinale. The cooperation marks the first time that a cinema association and a streaming platform have worked together. With a joint exploitation concept for cinema and streaming, Caligari award-winning films will be made accessible to a wide audience on filmfriend.
