Wallander

The popular title character of Henning Mankell's successful novels is played in this series adaptation by the famous actor and director Kenneth Brannagh, who received an Emmy nomination for his role as the Swedish chief inspector. Wallander is characterized as a melancholy investigator who is confronted with personal problems and an increasingly brutal world. The cases are complex and emotionally intense. Inspector Wallander witnesses the shocking suicide of a young woman and at the same time has to solve a brutal series of murders: Two prominent men have been beaten to death and scalped. A profiler helps him in his search for an inconspicuous perpetrator. When another victim turns up who doesn't fit the pattern, Wallander begins to doubt whether he is following the right trail.
