The Lake is our Bread and Butter

Society/Biography, Germany 2019

For their film, the class accompanied the Purand family from Neuruppin, who have been running a fishing business for more than 40 years. In addition to observing and describing the work processes, the students also found the interplay between the present and the past in the protagonists' stories. The changes in fishing in the region over the last 40 years were a recurring theme, as were the upheavals in the wake of reunification.
