Between two household chores, an old couple tell their granddaughter about their life both in Vietnam and in France, during the war. From their first meeting, when they were 20, till today, they describe all the main stages in their relationship. They talk about exile, immigration, at times on a light and humour tones, at times on a more serious one. In her note of intent, Aude Ha Leplège explains: "The Vietnamese culture is an important part of my family and yet, before I started to prepare this project and went to Vietnam myself, the image I had of this country was quite blurred. Indeed, my grand-parents have never been so much talkative about it. They only talk about anecdotes, without any landmarks. The interviews were not so easy, but my grand-parents finally play the game. I used their testimonies to build the soundtrack of the film. I edited their voices to give the illusion that they are talking to each other, answering to each other. I also chose to let more space for the unsaid and, taking some liberties, the characters finally gain their autonomy."
