Dancing Heartbeats

Breakdancing/breaking has long been part of a culture in which women were more like accessories and were not allowed to be strong, confident, and wild. Frieda, Jilou, and Viola have worked hard to earn their place in the scene and are now among the most successful women in breakdancing. Jilou is a hot candidate for selection at this year's Olympic Games and Germany's medal hope. Frieda is a B-Girl from the very beginning, but she has to accept that with age she can no longer rely on her body and must find a life after professional sport. Viola wants to be perceived primarily as a dancer and combines breaking with contemporary dance. For her, every battle is also a fight for her artistic identity.
