In search of an old Finnish friend, Chinese Cheng travels to a remote village in Lapland. Upon arrival, no one in the village seems to know his friend, but local café owner Sirkka offers him a place to stay. In return, Cheng helps her in the kitchen, and soon the locals are surprised with the delicacies of Chinese cuisine. Cheng quickly finds acceptance and new friends among the Finns, despite cultural differences. When his tourist visa expires, the villagers devise a plan to help him stay.... A laconic-romantic comedy, with finely balanced ingredients: a lot of humor, a large portion of warm-heartedness, some melancholy, romantic longing and cheerful summer flair add up to a film-culinary delicacy, where Finnish local color meets Chinese wisdom.
