Burning Days

There is a hole in Yaniklar. In this small town somewhere in the dry plains of Anatolia, the groundwater has been overexploited to such an extent that the ground is literally being pulled out from under the feet of the town's residents. The enormous sinkholes can swallow entire houses. Sent to this lost place in the middle of nowhere, Emre, young, committed, and just sworn in as a public prosecutor, is supposed to keep an eye on the authorities. The town of Yaniklar, represented above all by Mayor Selim, initially gives Emre a very warm welcome. But little by little, it becomes clear that there is political calculation behind this cordiality. The situation becomes even more difficult when the handsome journalist Murat, about whom many homophobic rumors circulate, takes an interest in Emre and gets closer and closer to him. But when Emre suddenly becomes the prime suspect in his first criminal case during the investigation, events come to a head...
