William is ten years old, a gentle boy, yet alert, attentive and sensitive. Sometimes he is cautious and anxious, for a reason: his father is dead, his mother mentally ill. This sounds as sad as it is, but it is not the beginning of a serious social drama. First of all, "I am William" is a wonderfully warm, often wacky comedy with a lot of bizarre humour, in which people do not always act in an exemplary manner.
