Netherlands, in the 17th century. Like his father, 14-year-old Peter Hajo, known only as Hajo by everyone, is drawn to the high seas. When the legendary captain Bontekoe arrives in the city with his ship "Nieuw-Horn" to look for men for his next East India company, Peter scents his chance.
