This lovingly crafted animated series follows the young genius Leonardo da Vinci in 15th-century Florence: 15-year-old Leonardo da Vinci studies painting in Florence and tinkers with new inventions in his secret laboratory. He embarks on exciting adventures with his friends Lisa, who looks after the horses in the palace of the Medici family who rule Florence, and Lollo, who works as a cook. With his extraordinary wealth of ideas, he helps the powerful Medici family stop a mysterious conspirator. The series combines adventure, creativity, and ingenuity with historical references, focusing on child-friendly themes such as courage, solidarity, and friendship. The young universal genius Leo is a positive role model for elementary school children as he masters his challenges with imagination, a big heart, and technical curiosity. At the same time, the series playfully imparts knowledge about the life and inventions of the Renaissance artist. FLIMMO, the parent guide, says: "Courage, solidarity, and friendship are central elements of the series. For elementary school children, Leo is a strong role model who fights for the good cause with creativity and passion. Along the way, there is a lot to learn about the Renaissance genius." FLIMMO recommendation: 7+. ---- When Leo arrives in Florence with his friends Lisa and Lollo, he immediately gets caught up in a conspiracy. Before he even introduces himself to Maestro Verrocchio to study in his art workshop, he discovers an abandoned sewer system. He wants to set up a secret laboratory there so he can develop new inventions in peace. But Leo isn't the only one using the sewers—a gang of stranded pirates is also there.
