What a pity: Neither in the cinema nor on television are films from Africa shown in this country. Only a few ambitious film festivals provide a small, interested public with insights into the wealth of African films. The small collection in this collection cannot even come close to depicting and representing the cinematic work of various African countries, especially since, in view of the diversity of film languages and cinematographies, one cannot speak of "the" African cinema anyway: More than 50 countries with thousands of different cultures and tribes simply cannot be depicted in this framework. But the collection can arouse interest with exciting examples and at least give a rudimentary introduction to African perspectives. And: It should grow!
