Erik Schmitt was born in 1980 in Mainz, Germany. In 2019 his imaginative feature film debut "Cleo" came to the cinemas. Prior to this, he made numerous short films, which in their imaginative and enigmatic way created a very distinctive narrative and visual cosmos. Using cleverly used trick effects, Schmitt takes a completely different and refreshingly new look at the world, especially at the big city of Berlin. Again and again he adds elements of animation to the play, sometimes even documentary-like plot, twisting and turning it with satirical attention to detail, exuberant creativity and captivating accuracy.
