MUSIC! MUSIC! MUSIC!

(Almost) everything about film music, film composers, dancing and singing in films

Music is a fundamental part of our (cultural) life; accordingly, it is also one of the essential ingredients of cinematic design. Because music in film and/or film music is far more than "just" a musical background to film images and sequences of images: Music really brings a film to life! Film music, film songs and other forms of expression that go hand in hand with music, such as dance, generate emotions and appeal to our own feelings. Thus, film music not only creates the content-related connection between the sounds and the images, but also shapes our own moods and feelings to at least the same extent. Our music collections celebrate the multifaceted significance of music in film. They pay tribute to significant film composers, illustrate the emotional power of a musical film, reference dance and song, classical, jazz and pop. Last but not least, they present outstanding concerts (not only) from the classical field.
