Toronto International Film Festival TIFF

The famous Canadian festival takes place every September without competition

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) first took place in 1976 as "The Festival of Festivals". At that time, the world's most successful films of one year were screened, a total of 127 films from 30 countries. In 1995, the event was renamed Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Since then, it has developed into a globally esteemed event that is held over ten days without its own competition. Along with the World Film Festival in Montreal and the AFI Fest in Los Angeles, the Toronto International Film Festival is the only film festival in North America accredited by the international film producers' association FIAPF.
