Wolfgang Kohlhaase is a legend! The renowned screenwriter, author and director is one of the most important creative figures of DEFA, he worked with important directors such as Gerhard Klein, Konrad wolf and Frank Beyer, wrote the screenplays for films such as "Berlin - Ecke Schönhauser" (1956), "Ich war neunzehn" (1968), "Solo Sunny" (1980, also co-directed) as well as "Der Aufenthalt" (1983) and had a decisive influence on the most artistically important films from the GDR. Kohlhaase continued his work successfully after reunification, writing for films such as "Der Hauptmann von Köpenick" (1997), "Victor Klemperer" (1999), "Die Stille nach dem Schuss" (2000), "Baby" (2002) and "I phone you" (2010). Especially with Andreas Dresen, a long-standing collaboration developed.
