Season 1 | Episode 1: Homeless, Jobless and Single

Emma's World

Comedy/Drama, Germany 2016

Emma is 25 years old; she’s just dropped out of law school and broken up with her unfaithful boyfriend. Now she finds herself in Berlin with nothing to her name: no job, no money, no place to live. At least the last problem seems to be temporarily solved when Emma moves into the two-person apartment of her former crush Tom. This is the perfect setup for a whole series of absurdly funny blunders that Emma stumbles into one after another thanks to her endearingly clumsy nature... “Emma’s World,” featuring an incomparably likable anti-heroine, screened at various festivals and won several awards and nominations, including the “Best Actress Award at the Dub Web Fest in Dublin 2016,” the “Best Actress Award at the Sicily Web Fest in Ustica 2016,” and the “Best German Web Series Award at Webfest Berlin 2015 . The entertaining web series was produced under the independent label “Darling Berlin” and directed by Luise Brinkmann (“Beat Beat Heart”). Emma discovers that her fiancé is cheating on her. She kicks him out of their shared apartment, only to realize that it is actually his apartment. After that, she also has to quit her job, because he is also her boss. Single, homeless, and looking for work, she tries to rebuild her life.
