An invitation to an intimate but anonymous encounter arrives in Jordan’s mailbox in the form of a purple envelope. The successful Hollywood agent is about to get married, but agrees to the offered sexual encounter with a beautiful stranger—in disguise, of course. But this not only triggers a vague sense of paranoia that escalates to hysterical proportions. Jordan plunges into a sinister world of lies and deceit, compounded by a series of murders linked to the invitations. In his search for the masterminds, Jordan becomes increasingly entangled in this erotic and treacherous game... As a captivating blend with a touch of paranoia, this black comedy takes a delightfully biting look at its own industry: the Hollywood bubble with its egocentric excesses. This darkly amusing thriller, which is as unsettling as it is entertaining, was invited to the “Encounters” section of the Berlinale and to the Tribeca Film Festival.
