With Grace

“My grandmother always said that if you dance in the rain, you'll grow faster.” But the rain in the Kenyan village of Mutomo, where Grace is growing up, is taking longer to arrive each year. Grace is a clever 13-year-old girl with big dreams and a rare gift for making everyone around her laugh. She takes us back to her early childhood in a loving Kenyan farming family—a time full of fun, but also a time when she once feared losing her father if the crops didn't grow... "Since 2011, we have been developing audio descriptions for short films in collaboration with schools (focusing on vision) and with the support of the German Blind Aid Association (Deutsches Blindenhilfswerk e.V.) and Methode Film. This year, DOXS RUHR is visiting the Focus School in Gelsenkirchen. For WITH GRACE, students are developing an audio film version, which we will present for the first time at the festival.
